Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
Typically, couples book me 6–12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about availability — even if you're on a shorter timeline.
How long will it take to see our pictures?
Turnaround time varies by season, but you can typically expect to view your photos online 4–6 weeks after your wedding.
How many pictures will we get?
You can expect about 50–100 images per hour of coverage. This varies depending on your package, guest count, venue type, and other factors.
How many hours of coverage do we need?
Every wedding is unique, so the right amount of coverage depends on your day. My packages range from 4 to 9 hours depending on the collection, and we'll go over everything during timeline planning to make sure all the moments that matter are captured.
Factors that help determine the best coverage include:
Getting-ready locations for both you and your partner
Ceremony location
Cocktail hour and reception schedule
Type of ceremony (religious or non-religious)
Whether you'd like a first look and pre-ceremony photos with your partner, wedding party, and family
Size of your wedding party and immediate families
I'll guide you through all of this so your timeline feels smooth, relaxed, and fully covered.
Do you deliver RAW or unedited photos?
I don't provide RAW or unedited images. Every photo you receive is professionally edited (JPG format) to ensure consistent color, brightness, and mood.
How do we get our photos? Will we have rights to our images?
You'll receive your edited digital images via Pixieset. I retain copyright, but you'll have personal use and printing rights. I also offer printing options if you're interested.
Do you work with same-sex couples, different religions, etc.?
Yes! I love all love stories.
Do you have insurance?
Yes! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I'll send that over.
What's your backup plan if you can't photograph our wedding as planned?
In the rare event I'm unable to photograph your wedding, I'll make sure you're covered by a trusted colleague or my contracted assistant. I can also provide a list of photographers from my networking groups so you can find the right replacement.
Should we add a second photographer?
A second photographer adds a lot of value to your coverage. Here's a quick guide to help decide:
Want more images of both of you during a first look or ceremony entrance? A second shooter captures both reactions at once.
Getting ready in separate locations? A second shooter can be with your partner while I'm with you.
Have a large cocktail hour, or guest candids matter to you? A second shooter can focus on guests and details while I focus on you two.
Ok, we're ready to book, now what?
Yay, I'd love to work together! Once you choose a package, we'll move forward with booking. A 50% non-refundable retainer and signed contract are required to reserve your date, with the remaining balance due one month before the wedding.
If your budget is tight, I also offer monthly payment options — we can spread the remaining balance out over several months leading up to your wedding, as long as everything is paid in full 30 days before your date. Just let me know if you'd like to set this up, and we'll figure out a schedule that works for you.
Can we post the photos on social media?
Yes, please do! Just give me photo credit with a link back to my page on whatever platform you're using, and please don't apply filters or edits to the images.
What happens if it rains?
For weddings: we go with it! I'll find covered or indoor spots as needed, but I also love rain — it can be so romantic. Clear umbrellas for your wedding party are a great option if you want to lean into it.
For portrait sessions: reach out to me directly. I usually wait until the day of the shoot to make a final call, since weather can be unpredictable. Light, steady rain is often workable, but for a heavy downpour, we'll typically reschedule.
How many weddings do you take on each year?
I take on up to 20 weddings a year, so I can be fully present for each couple, and still have balance in my own life too. Alongside weddings, I also offer family and maternity sessions, with limited spots to keep that same personal experience.
